It was Hanna-Barbera's Space Age counterpart to The Flintstones. It's probably worth a look for the sake of reliving some childhood nostalgia, but not a whole lot else.The Jetsons is an American animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera, originally airing in primetime from September 23, 1962, to March 17, 1963, then later in syndication, with new episodes in 1985 to 1987 as part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera block. With little of note to set it apart from a great many previous Jetsons stories, other than added padding to beef up the running time, the film is watchable enough fare that never really threatens to become anything more.
While Jetsons: The Movie is not exactly a bad kids' film, it plays things far too 'safe' to be particularly memorable. This grievance aside, the quality of voice acting is as good as one would hope for from a feature length Hanna-Barbera cartoon, with plenty of well-crafted voices to listen to (those with a penchant for such things should keep an ear out for Transformers' Michael Bell doing his best Prowl impression in a small 'vocal cameo').

While Tiffany does a credible job overall, it is unfortunate that the original voice actor was dropped to accommodate a pop singer who just happened to be trendy at the time, especially when we consider that this turned out to be the last opportunity to have the full original cast work together. The casting of Tiffany proved to be very controversial at the time, as it meant that Jetsons: The Movie was the first ever piece of Jetsons material not to feature Janet Waldo as the voice of Judy. Unfortunately though, none of the film's songs are catchy enough to linger in the mind after the final credits roll. One such way is in the casting of teen pop star Tiffany as the voice of Judy, who was given not one, but three musical numbers, one of which comes out of nowhere and features an oddly trippy and out of place music video in the middle of the film. With the story itself quite thin, Jetsons: The Movie has to come up with other ways to fill up the 80 minute running time.

Spacely, only to end up back where he started after facing a moral dilemma? Indeed, the sub-plots involving him becoming so consumed by his professional career that he struggles to spend time with his family, as well as said family struggling to adapt to new surroundings after a change of home, are paths well-trodden by the Jetsons, so there's really nothing new to be seen here for anyone who has watched more than a couple of episodes of the original TV show. How many times have we seen George get promoted by Mr. The problem with Jetsons: The Movie is that it simply feels like an extended regular episode of the show.
It is up to George to make a big moral decision does he do what's right for his company and career or do the morally correct thing and save the koala-monkeys?
